Leave a Gift in Your Will

If you love Theatre Royal Wakefield, and want to help to ensure that the organisation continues to thrive in the future, you may wish to consider leaving a gift in your will to the Theatre. A gift of just 1% of your estate can play a huge part in ensuring that Theatre Royal Wakefield can continue to give future generations as much joy as it has given you over the years - and can be a special way to commemorate something that you care about.

As Theatre Royal Wakefield is a registered charity (number 503597), leaving a gift in your will to the Theatre can also help to reduce the tax payable on your estate. Gifts to charities are normally exempt from Inheritance Tax, and are deducted from your estate before your Inheritance Tax liability is calculated. As of April 2012, individuals who leave 10% or more of their net estate to charity can also benefit from a reduced Inheritance Tax rate of 36% (normally 40%).

If you choose to remember us in your will, please ensure that you use our full name, registered address and charity number: Wakefield Theatre Trust, Drury Lane, Wakefield, West Yorkshire WF1 2TE, charity number: 503597. We promise that your gift will be gratefully received and effectively used, no matter what its size.

If you would like to discuss the possibility of leaving a gift in your will in the strictest confidence, please contact Sarah Shooter, Head of Fundraising & Partnerships on 01924 334 116, or email sarah.shooter@theatreroyalwakefield.co.uk.
